According to freedictionary.com, the word size can be defined as:  “the physical dimensions, proportions, magnitude, or extent of an object.”   It is however also defined as “the character, value, or status with reference to the capacity to meet given requirements.”

Researchers say that bigger words, printed in a larger font size, create stronger emotional brain responses and also found that reading larger font sizes produces emotional effects that begins earlier and lasts longer than those resulting from reading smaller font sizes.

As an image becomes smaller it can be seen as more distant, less significant and therefore easily be disregarded by the brain.

Visual merchandising is the activity of promoting the sale of goods, especially by its presentation in retail outlets. This includes combining product, environment and space into a stimulating and engaging display to encourage the sale of a product or service.
